This soft pink & lilac newborn session is what all of my baby girl newborn session dreams are made of.
Ainsley’s mom and dad got to Okinawa about a month before we did, so we have known this sweet family for our entire tour. A couple of years ago, her mama and I were carpooling to something (who can remember) and we started talking about my newborn photography. I’d been listening to a lot of business podcasts at the time (still am) and had several “ideal client” exercises in mind. After chatting a while, I told her, “Man, if you had babies you would definitely be my ideal client!”
Less than a year later she announced that she was expecting and she went from being my theoretical “ideal client,” into a flesh and bone client who was– in every way– ideal! Gender reveal: Mom & Dad trusted my ideas and vision and went for it. Maternity session: She was open to all of my ideas for wardrobe, hair & makeup, and location. In fact, she took flexible to a new level when we were driving to the beach and I saw this gorgeous field full of lovely light and asked if we could pull over for brief detour. Newborn session: her daughter was as sweet and sleepy and snuggly as a baby can be! Not to mention, they
I had hoped to use the same flowers that I had her mama wearing in a floral crown during her maternity session for the newborn session, but unfortunately I have a black thumb. That pretty plant died about 10 minutes after my husband left town. Luckily for me, Japan has some of the prettiest silk flowers around! All those sweet baby macro details! Oh man!!! All the heart eyes, am I right?!
