Jenna’s Kurashiki Dam Cake Smash & Bubble Bath | One Year Milestone Session

One Year Milestone Family Session | Mindy Arnholt Photography“Mom, Look! We got the orange skies you wanted!” This sweet boy, can make his sister laugh out loud on command. He loves puppies. He was stoked about the idea of a baby hot tub… And he was SO excited that his mama got the sunset she’d been hoping for for his baby sister’s cake smash & bubble bath session. To say he’s won my heart in the year that I’ve known him is putting it mildly. I met this sweet family at Jessica’s baby shower, just weeks before Jenna came to make their family complete. One of our mutual friends, Natasha, had hired me to photograph Jessica’s shower as her “gift” to Jess. One Year Milestone Family Session | Mindy Arnholt PhotographyAfter she got her photos back, Jessica contacted me and asked if I would be interested in doing their fresh 48 and newborn session. I’d just recently gotten into newborn photography and loved it. I’d photographed half a dozen babies for friends over the last few months, as I put into practice everything I had learned from online workshops, so I was excited to finally feel comfortable taking on newborn clients. When I walked into that hospital, and saw Jenna in her little hat (I’ll attach the picture to the bottom of the blog) I was blown away. She was already so pretty, and I couldn’t believe I was getting paid to take pictures of such a gorgeous little human. Since that time, Jessica and I have become good friends, and I’ve been lucky enough to take pictures of this gorgeous little human every three months as she’s grown up as part of our milestone package. I think we started talking about this cake smash & bubble bath session before she was even sitting up. Natasha, (the friend who originally introduced us) had made a gorgeous ribbon garland for the shower and it was the theme of the cake smash session.

One Year Milestone Family Session | Mindy Arnholt PhotographyWe started with a family session, because when they are all this cute- you just have to!

Mommy & Me | Spokane PhotographerI’d planned for the cake smash & bubble bath portion to take place in several different fields before finally finding this spot at Kurashiki Dam less than an hour before our session. Every time I’d pick a field, they’d mow it and ruin the tall pretty grasses I was counting on to for catching this sunset light. Even my favorite smash cake spot at the dam. Luckily, I kept driving and found this spot, just in the nick of time.

This little water baby started giggling the moment we put her in the tub, and never stopped! Outdoor Bubble Bath One Year Photos | Spokane PhotographerOutdoor Bubble Bath One Year Photos | Spokane PhotographerOutdoor Bubble Bath One Year Photos | Spokane PhotographerOutdoor Bubble Bath One Year Photos | Spokane Photographer

A little throwback to the day Jayden met his sweet little sister a year ago:

I can’t believe how much they’ve both grown since then! It won’t be as much fun to watch them growing up from afar, but, gosh what a blessing it’s been to have this year with them!

WELCOME

Hi! I’m Mindy- and I’m overly excited that you’re here. The truth is, I still wake up and write “I’m grateful to have turned photography into a ‘real’ job” in my gratitude journal at least 2-3 times a week. After seven years, it’s still hard for me to believe it’s real. It just makes me all swirly inside to believe that I get to make a living doing the thing that I love.  And it’s ONLY because people like you pop over to this site and decide to trust me with capturing your family that I get to do it. So seriously… thank you.
