Cozy Up for Winter Photos in Anchorage with an Indoor/Outdoor Session

Last year I quickly learned it’s tough keeping fingers and toes warm long enough for winter photos in Anchorage. Luckily, as the snow fell (and just kept falling) I realized that our yard is a perfect location for snowy winter vibes, and the bonus is that the studio is just steps away! With a blazing fire, fur rugs, and a fully seasonal lifestyle set up, it wasn’t long before I started using the studio for more than just outfit changes and warm ups, and started shooting part of the session in there too!

And that’s how my indoor/outdoor sessions were born! This year, I decided I would open this option up to all clients! My hybrid winter family photos are an indoor/outdoor sessions, available for my same package pricing, but rather than getting one location- you get two! One set of photos outdoors in the snow and one set in the seasonal studio.

The studio is best for families with younger kids and maternity as it’s a cozy snuggly vibe in there. I do not offer this option for extended families as I just do not have quite enough room for a huge group.

After opening these up for winter, I also started doing a similar concept for fall, though rather than my backyard, the location I love for fall colors is about 5 minutes from the house. You can check out a recent maternity hybrid session here: Indoor/Outdoor Studio Maternity Session.

Hi! I’m Mindy- and I’m overly excited that you’re here. The truth is, I still wake up and write “I’m grateful to have turned photography into a ‘real’ job” in my gratitude journal at least 2-3 times a week. After seven years, it’s still hard for me to believe it’s real. It just makes me all swirly inside to believe that I get to make a living doing the thing that I love.  And it’s ONLY because people like you pop over to this site and decide to trust me with capturing your family that I get to do it. So seriously… thank you.
