I’m a total sucker for a good engagement story.
A good love story of any kind really. When Denise first contacted me about an engagement session at Zanpa Lighthouse, we had the initial getting-to-know you chat I have with most clients.
- What to wear for engagement photos
- What time of day would be best to shoot
- Good locations for beach photos in Okinawa, etc.
And then she casually told me, “Oh I think we might want toshoot at Zanpa Lighthouse, because that’s where he proposed.” Ummmm yeah, we will!!! I was so excited to go back to the spot where she had first agreed to spend the rest of her life with her guy. We planned the session so that we would start at the lighthouse and then move on to Maeda Flats for a second outfit and a sunset on the beach. The Okinawa rainy season disagreed with us about the sunset, but everything else (even the temperature) couldn’t have gone more according to our plans! As soon as we got there, I was dying to know the whole story. As we walked to the hidden mark he’d left in the exact spot he got down on one knee, (how cute is that??) I started asking for all the details!
They are both stunningly attractive, super sweet and so very, very in love. They met in a small group through a popular church here in Okinawa. She’s an active duty medical professional, he’s an active duty marine. They are just the kind of people you just feel good spending time with, and it was such an honor to get to capture their love and celebrate their engagement. Can’t wait to see what the future holds for these lovebirds!
