Newborn Photographer

SEVEN YEARS?!? My gosh- I still can’t believe I’ve gotten to play dress up with babies for over seven years and call it a job!

My Anchorage Newborn Photography Studio is in Lower Hillside, and is outfitted with everything you will need for a comfortable visit. Whether it’s  Wifi, Snacks, Coffee & Tea, or even a bed or shower (I’m not kidding- it’s happened!) – you can come in and make yourself at home while I get started with baby.

Some moms also opt to have a professional makeup artist come by so that you can literally roll out of bed and have someone else take care of styling you. You will have access to my full client closet, so when I say you can literally show up as you are… I mean it!  The only thing you need to show up with is baby! Although an extra binkie and bottle never hurt either! I have a full array of props, swaddles, lovies, headbands, hats, and more. We will schedule a call before you session to talk about color schemes and props/sets so that everything is pulled and set up before you arrive. On the day of, you will just show up as you are and have a moment to relax.

WHAT TO EXPECT

My sessions are baby-led, but generally last about 3-4 hours. The timing will depend on how long it takes baby to settle and which package you choose. Family images are generally best captured at the beginning of the session so that one parent and other littles can take off after the session and go check out the zoo (which is about 5 minutes away), get a treat, even head home for naps.

I only take one newborn session per day, with a limited amount of availability each month, so that I can make sure to accommodate babies who come a little early or a little late, or right on time! I recommend booking in the second trimester to make sure I have availability. When booking you will just give me your due date and I pencil that in to ensure we have wiggle room on either side. Sessions are best held when baby is between 5-21 (gestational) days old.

I’ve had countless hours of training in safety, posing, soothing, swaddling, and over the last seven years I have also developed a guide for newborn parents to help prep baby for picture day, so that you will show up with a sleepy baby who is ready to go!

If you have any questions at all, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
